1.The Nepali performance in athletics in the international level has never been satisfactory.We have not yet been able to secure any specific honor or award in athletics for our country.This is tragic.There are nearly thirty million people but still no one has got the glory in our country.

2.Now the question is how to improve our performance in athletics.The answer to this question is not far to seek.Let us first analyze the whole issue objectively.There are different types of solutions, which we can possibly adopt.

3.It is duty of our parents, teachers and other responsible members of the society to organize talent search programs and motivate those talents.It would have a positive response from a large number of young boys and girls.

4.Training centers should be set up in cities as well as in villages.These centers should give not only physical training but also mental and spiritual.A proper education should be given with scholarships to the deserving and promising young people.

5.It is a matter of deep concern that neither the Government nor any voluntary agency comes forward to organize health camps and knowledge workshops for boosting our athletic potential and other sports.

6.We must teach the trainees the value of a nutritive diet.If they take a nourishing diet full of vitamins,they will develop a strong mental and physical culture, which would be unique in itself.Such youths would become our true national wealth.

7.We must give proper training to all those who are interested in body building, gymnasium, high jumps, long jumps, wrestling, long distance running,short distance races and other physical activities.Such a program can be made popular and financed by the Govt. agencies and voluntary organization.
